I absolutely love Marilyn’s look at the premiere I absolutely love Marilyn’s look at the premiere of The Misfits on January 31, 1961. So often Marilyn wore white, but this time she wowed in all black. Perhaps this was out of respect for costar Clark Gable, another of the film’s star leads, who passed away suddenly on November 16, 1960. She was devastated by the loss, and some even contributed the cause of death to Marilyn due to difficulties on the set. #marilynmonroe
Marilyn Monroe’s Personal Mexican Star Light fro Marilyn Monroe’s Personal Mexican Star Light from her Home at 12305 Fifth Helena Drive, Brentwood, CA:
A triangular-shaped hanging light with panels made of opaque white glass encased in a metal frame, This light is one of the many items Monroe famously purchased in Mexico to furnish her new Spanish-style home in Brentwood. The light was sold to the Nunez family, who purchased the home and several items that had belong to Marilyn.
This light can be seen in photos, hanging in the back porch of The house, which was just off the kitchen. (Swipe left!)

It was added to the Marilyn Monroe Collection in 2016!

This light, among a few other pieces, has become synonymous with the collection. It’s an item that fans purchase to use in their own home, just because Marilyn had one. If you have one of these in your home send me a photo and I’ll share it in my stories! #marilynmonroe

From the Estate of Marilyn Monroe, a 1962 phoneboo From the Estate of Marilyn Monroe, a 1962 phonebook with multiple annotations and entries made by Marilyn herself. Approximately 7×9 inches, the book is covered in green calfskin with a gold border on the front cover.

The phonebook offers an incredible and insightful look into the life of Marilyn Monroe in her final year. It lists addresses from New York and Los Angeles, and also many celebrities, movie moguls, and members of the press, along with members of Marilyn’s family and even her former husbands.

This phonebook can be seen in a photo of the sunroom in Marilyn’s Brentwood home on Fifth Helena Drive. The book rests on the coffee table. (Swipe left.)

Added to the Marilyn Monroe Collection in 2020!
