The Marilyn Monroe Collection
I’m thrilled to share this previously unpublishe I’m thrilled to share this previously unpublished, behind-the-scenes photo of Marilyn Monroe on the set of The Misfits, straight from the private collection of my friend Remi Gangarossa (with copyright)!

Below it, you’ll also find an exclusive sneak peek from Remi’s cinematic passion project, nearly a decade in the making. I had the pleasure of serving as a Creative Producer on the film.

Marilyn’s Dark Paradise, a fictional time-travel film exploring Marilyn’s life, officially premieres at the BAFTA-qualifying Carmarthen Bay Film Festival in Wales, UK, on May 19, 2025.

The U.S. domestic film festival premiere location and date are still TBD.

Starring:
Stephanie Stuart as Marilyn Monroe
Addelyn Workman as Norma Jeane

Directed by Remi Gangarossa

Happy Mother’s Day to moms across the globe. Her Happy Mother’s Day to moms across the globe. Here’s to you on this speical day. 🌺 💐 🌼

To celebrate the occasion: The first image in this post is of Marilyn Monroe’s personal photograph of her mother Gladys Pearl Monroe (1902-1984) and Marion Otis Elmer Monroe, who was Gladys’ brother and Marilyn’s uncle (1904-1929). On the back of the photo, Marilyn herself wrote “Gladys + bro.”

Also included are photos of Marilyn with her mom.

We all know that Marilyn loved her champagne! 🍾 We all know that Marilyn loved her champagne! 🍾

Part of the Marilyn Monroe Collection: Two receipts from the Liquor Department at Jurgensen’s Grocery Store dated January and February of 1960, both showing purchases for @piper_heidsieck champagne. In January, she bought 12 splits of champagne, and in February she bought 48 splits! The champagne was delivered to Marilyn at the Beverly Hills Hotel, which is where she was staying during filming of Let’s Make Love.

These two receipts were featured in a Piper-Heidsieck advertising campaign last year.

Champagne was actually one of my favorite alcoholic beverages. (WAS…now I’m dry.) How about you?🥂

The 2025 Met Gala is tonight. With that in mind, i The 2025 Met Gala is tonight. With that in mind, it was three years ago now that the most expensive dress ever sold at auction (over $4.8 million in 2016), was irreparably damaged for an eight minute red carpet vanity walk by someone who has received multiple awards for being a “fashion and style icon.” And still, she has never acknowledged, nor has Ripley’s, what the public can clearly see: The gown was not returned in the same condition it was in prior to having been worn at the gala. Photos clearly show that crystals are now missing, with others hanging by threads, and the fabric of the garment has been pulled, separated and torn.

Was it in perfect condition prior to being worn to the gala? No. Was it damaged beyond repair from being worn? Yes. It was unquestionably damaged during fittings and on the red carpet. Videos and photos verify it.

Considering its cultural and historic significance, that dress should never have been worn by anyone, and it is forever tarnished.

“Fun” Fact: Ripley’s now believes Marilyn’s “Happy Birthday Mr.President” gown is even MORE valuable because KK wore it. 🙄

What do you think? Is it more or less valuable now after having been worn to the 2022 Met Gala?

One of the on-screen seen items from my collection One of the on-screen seen items from my collection: A vibrant orange wool skirt from Let’s Make Love. This skirt was worn by Marilyn in numerous publicity shots for the film, it’s also seen in the film itself. She has it thrown over her shoulder instead of wearing it around her waist. The skirt was designed by Academy Award winning costumer Dorothy Jeakins. (Note: The black bodysuit on the mannequin is not original. It’s for display purposes.) Fun fact: The skirt’s inner-lining is hot pink! 🧡💗#marilynmonroe
Marilyn Monroe at Idlewild Airport, New York, Nove Marilyn Monroe at Idlewild Airport, New York, November 2, 1959.

There’s no question. Ferragamo’s were a constant with Marilyn. There are countless photos of her wearing the iconic shoe brand. By my count she owned over 40 pairs of these shoes.

I’m fortunate enough to own her personal @ferragamo high heels. This pair that I own sold originally at the 1999 Christie’s auction, “The Personal Property of Marilyn Monroe.” They are size 7 1/2 B.

IN HER SHOES: I’ve been fortunate to stay in the former Beverly Carlton hotel in Beverly Hills, now the Avalon Hotel, several times over the years, and in the exact same room Marilyn lived in. She lived here a number of times in the early 1950s.

Here, she was photographed inside this same suite in 1952. Me...in nearly the exact same spot. The window frames and embellishments are still the same today.

This particular image is believed to be Marilyn’s favorite of herself. She kept a stash of these photos with her to autograph and give to friends and fans. These three photos were yet to be signed and given away.

In Her Shoes: The Savoy Hotel, London 🇬🇧

I stayed at @thesavoylondon in London, (one of my favorite cities), just last February. Of course, it was the perfect opportunity to capture some “In Her 👠” moments considering Marilyn was photographed at this hotel for two different press conferences in 1956. If you’ve followed me for a while, then you know about my “In Her Shoes” photo series where I visit and photograph locations where Marilyn was pictured. So far, I’ve done these shoots in Los Angeles, New York, Reno, Palm Springs, and now London. See my Highlights section on Instagram for prior shoots and locations.

In this photo, I’m in the same space where Marilyn held a press conference on July 16, 1956. This room is called the “Banquet Room” at the Savoy. Incredibly, a lot of the room’s structure and décor from 69 years ago are still there today.
This is a very unique photo of Marilyn. Someone had the idea to capture the full press corps there to see Marilyn and Sir Laurence Olivier.
This is my last “In Her Shoes” post from the Savoy in London. Hope you’ve enjoyed this installment of the series!

Be sure to follow and stay tuned for more “In Her 👠“ moments!
