Marilyn and I: The Finished Product

In June of last year I wrote about a special opportunity for California based Marilyn Monroe fans to participate in a unique and exciting photography based project: “Marilyn and I.” Read my blog post here. This project was spearheaded by Paris based photographer Yury Toroptsov. The premise of the project: Be photographed by Yury with a dress from Marilyn’s personal wardrobe.

“Marilyn and I” explores the elements which constitute the exceptional longevity and modernity of Marilyn Monroe’s myth. Individuals from Europe and the United States posed next to an authentic summer dress which belonged to the star.

The project is now complete, and two books are available for purchase showcasing the photos Yury took during his travels to the US, and in his home country of France.
