Norma Jeane: The Musical at the Lost Theatre

A new musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe, Norma Jeane: The Musical will run at the Lost Theatre, a fringe venue in Stockwell, south London, from 30 May to 18 June 2016, with an official opening on 1 June 2016.

“In the dark days of 1961, eighteen months before she died, Marilyn Monroe was sent to a psychiatric unit when she thought she was being sent to a spa for rest and relaxation. This fascinating musical charts the three days she spent there. As she begins coming off the drink and drugs that had become the norm in her Hollywood lifestyle, her mind starts wandering between past and present. Her hallucinations draw the audience into the chaos of her mind and darkly foreshadow the tragedy that is soon to come.”

Featuring a book by TL Shannon, the musical features a score by a mix of composers such as Anton Mullan, Ali Isabella, Andy Street, David Martin, Mike Daniels, Geoff Cotton, and Orna Klement.

Produced by KSW Productions and The LOST Theatre, it is directed by Christopher Swann with a full cast and creative team to be announced. The production previously ran at the Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre in Walthamstow in 2015.
