Julien’s Auctions has announced its second annual birthday tribute in the form of an online only auction to Hollywood’s most enduring blonde, Marilyn Monroe, on what would have been her 95th birthday, June 1st.
Over 200 lots are offered, all celebrating Marilyn including: rare 1950s-era vintage magazines, museum-quality photographs, a huge assortment of collectibles (some of which never made it to the market), and out-of-print books and biographies, among countless other items all related to the star.
Lots 192 through 228 contain items that I personally selected from the archives and collection of Anna Strasberg, widow of Marilyn’s close personal friend and acting mentor Lee Strasberg. When Lee passed away, Marilyn’s estate and licensing rights transferred to Anna. Over the years, Anna personally authorized many memorabilia items to be produced as Marilyn Monroe collectibles for Marilyn’s fan base. Below is a sample of just a few lots of items.
Items in these lots come directly from Anna’s personal storage lockers. These are not basic collectibles. They are first edition items, and in some cases prototypes. These pieces were sent to Anna for her review and approval before they were mass produced for the public. Don’t miss this opportunity to add items to your collection with incredibly unique history, coming directly from Anna Strasberg herself.
This is a “something for everyone” type of auction as estimates are all under $500 and there will be no reserves on any lot.
The auction is now online for bidder registration and advance bidding. View the auction here.
The last day of the auction will be Tuesday, June 1st. On Tuesday, June 1st starting at 11:00 AM Pacific Time, the sale will close chronologically in lot order with real time bidding.
