Ray Anthony Releases Short Film: Marilyn and I

I received an email today from Ray Anthony letting me know that he has released the full version of his short film, “Marilyn and I.”  A small segment of this film was shown at the 2015 Marilyn Monroe Memorial, (sponsored each year by the Marilyn Remembered Fan Club).

It’s great to be able to now see the film in its entirety.  In this film, Anthony talks about his life as a musician, and his eventual rise to fame leading his own band and starring in his own television show.   He also recounts his love of blondes, and his friendships with Hugh Hefner and Berry Gordy.

The highlight sections of the film are, of course, related to his time with Marilyn on August 3, 1952, when he threw a party for her at his home, and debuted the song he wrote for her, entitled simply, “Marilyn.”  He estimates around 500 members of the press were in attendance.  Mickey Rooney and canine celeb Lassie also came to the party.
